The Making of America
Judges legislating from the bench, government bailouts to private companies, the expanding definition of eminent domain…sometimes it’s difficult to recognize the America we know and love. How could we have come so far from the principles on which America was founded?
This year, LDSEHE has felt strongly that we need to become better informed about the Constitution and the principles that guided our county’s founding. As homeschooling parents, we have the responsibility to not only make certain that we understand these principles thoroughly, but that we are able to teach them to our children. Consequently, LDSEHE is pleased to announce our pre-conference seminar, “The Making of America,” by the President of the National Center for Constitutional Studies, Earl Taylor.
Over the past 20 years, Dr. Taylor has held seminars in many different places: schools, libraries, meeting rooms, various church demoninations, homes, college campuses, and city convention centers. No matter the setting, when good people come together in the spirit of learning a sense of peace and hope pervades the room as the story of the Founders' message is unfolded to them.
This is America’s story. This is our story.
We will begin the day with a look at “Developing America’s Great Success Formula.” Dr. Earl Taylor will walk us through the process that Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Washington and others made in order to create the first free nation in modern times. The afternoon will be spent discussing “The Perfect Plan of Liberty,” the solid political and economic principles of the Constitution, from the preamble through the amendments.
Due to the timely nature and importance of this seminar, LDSEHE is opening attendance to anyone interested in the principles of liberty.

In Montana, a seminar group was discussing the Founders' principle that public officials only have the right to do what the people have legitimately authorized them to do... One man came up at the break and said there were about ten state legislators in attendance and this is the first time they had heard such doctrine. It so impressed them that they were talking of having the whole legislature take this course.
A Tyler, Texas attorney enthusiastically said that he learned more about the Constitution in this one-day seminar than during all three years of law school!
An Arizona couple were so impressed by the principles they learned in the "Making of America" seminar that they are making plans to take the seminar to the country of Latvia. They strongly feel that the Latvian people need to hear this message of freedom.
